New Life
So, what does new life look like?
If we had spiritual eyes that could see spiritual things with vivid clarity, would new life appear as the color of spring, similar to the earliest barley shoots – young, yet imbued with hope?
Would we see that new life has a substance, much like air, and can permeate the human spirit? Would we see the infusion of air awaken the human spirit from its death-slumber and bring it to life?
What does new life feel like?
Is it like breathing for the first time, though without that first human struggle? Could it be more like the deep gulps of pure air we love when we stand under a crystal blue sky mirrored in a nearby lake that is surrounded by verdant trees?
Could it be more like coming home to Eden where we belong?
Is it the same air that filled the lungs of the resurrected Jesus, while he lay in his dark, sealed tomb? Is new life’s air filled with the resurrection power that revealed the Savior of the world as the Author of Life?
Is it the same air that billows through the royal robes of God when he stands up from his throne to answer the prayer of a desperate soul?
Is it air so gentle that one breeze can tenderly heal a bruised heart while strong enough to break the chains imprisoning an addicted soul?
In these next few articles you will read about more about the “Green” of God, which is New Life.
I invite you to spend time in a quiet place to imagine breathing in life that is sourced in Christ.
